About Kris
Kris von Habsburg is a Dutch-Australian-British lawyer, entrepreneur and photographer, currently resident in Vietnam. Born in the Netherlands to parents who shared a love of travel, he seems to have inherited the itinerary: he has lived and worked in Thailand, Australia, Ireland, Spain, Hong Kong, the USA, Germany, the United Kingdom and Vietnam.
Photography is his counterweight to the law: a practice of peace, quiet, light and place. His galleries range across the cultures and landscapes of Europe and Asia, made slowly, in warm weather where possible, by a photographer who travels not to collect destinations but to sit still in them.

The practice
No gear worship here. The photographs are made with whatever camera is at hand — digital or film — and with time: waiting for the light, returning when it is better, and letting a place carry on as if unobserved. Every print is produced on archival papers, and each photograph on this site states the largest size its original file can honestly print.
